Greatest Hits North East was formerly known as Magic 1152 and Metro Radio 2. It was rebranded in 2019 as part of Bauer Radio's changes plan. It was established in the late eighties in Newcastle, broadcasting to County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.
